the why
I grew tired of the bad rep Monday gained.
I no longer wanted to set my tone for the week with such a negative mindset towards our first day of the week.
I wanted more for my home. I wanted to be the mother that welcomed the new week with a joyful heart, and it wasn’t long before I realized that how I set the tone for Monday truly laid out the tone for the rest of the week.
I was desperate for a shift.
I was reminded of the time (one of many) in the Old Testament when God was faithful in a shift to His people:
The Israelites were wandering in the desert for 40 years after their release from slavery, and they were desperate for more.
They grew tired, irritable, and hungry in the desert. They cried out to God in their hunger, and He heard them.
The Israelites then experienced an unexpected but sudden source of edible pleasure and gain from the Lord, known as “manna”. Their word for the substance (“Ma'n Hu?”) literally means, “what is it?” in English.
They knew this edible miracle came from God, but they didn’t know exactly what it was.
Once I decided to shift my mindset from dread to anticipation, it should have been no surprise that God provided some form of manna for me.
I didn’t know what it would look like, but I trusted it would be enough to make the shift for me.
The manna I found looked like freedom with my children, eagerness for the day, thanksgiving over children to care for, and a home to tend to.
I noticed opportunities to grow my relationship with the Lord, my husband, and my children.
I found peace for the day and in turn, it transitioned to one of my favorite days of the week.
I want that for you.
This is why you can expect me to pop in your email every Monday with “manna” to help you set the tone for your week.
I’ll be sharing content that is meant to encourage you— with His word. I’ll be sharing whatever I am loving lately that is helping “my” sanity…and how I think it could help yours too.
